After 30 minutes of driving you will enter the National Park, where you can observe the vegetation and the beautiful views. The driver will leave you at an altitude of 1000 meters from where you will start a walk of about 1 km until you reach the crater. Once at the summit you will be able to admire the breathtaking view and learn more about the geology of the volcano from a local mountain guide.
You will hear explanations from a park guide about the numerous transformations of the mountain due to its volcanic nature, learning how this force of nature was able to destroy the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Afterwards, you'll have free time to walk around the crater and take photos before boarding the bus and returning to Naples.
